Analyze, interpret, and present complex data and technical information effectively. <br />Prepare clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, and correspondence. <br />Lead and motivate staff while fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace. <br />Represent the division and City in meetings with government agencies, regional <br />partners, community groups, and the public. <br />Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external <br />stakeholders. <br />EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br />Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required <br />knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain knowledge and <br />abilities would be: <br />Experience: <br />Five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in traffic <br />engineering, transportation planning, or mobility management, including at <br />least two (2) years in a supervisory or management capacity. <br />Training: <br />Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree <br />in civil engineering, transportation engineering, transportation planning, or <br />a related field. Possession of a master’s degree and/or licensure as a <br />Professional Engineer (PE) or Traffic Engineer (TE) is highly desirable. <br />WORK ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS <br />Essential duties require the following physical abilities and work environment: Must <br />possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office <br />equipment, including a computer; occasionally travel to visit various City and <br />meeting sites as needed; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; <br />and hearing and speech to communicate in person, and over the telephone. This <br />is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing for prolonged <br />periods and walking between work areas may be required.
