REV: 07-10-25 VR <br />Provide Director Monaghan with all County equipment and materials <br />necessary to perform the function as Director of the <br />Interjurisdictional Program (e.g. cell phone, County telephone <br />number, County email address, County laptop with all needed <br />applications and software licenses, County car, auto insurance, auto <br />maintenance, and gasoline), and technical support to address <br />related technical issues as they may arise in the use and <br />maintenance of this equipment. <br />Provide Director Monaghan with all necessary safety and law <br />enforcement equipment required for his activities as Director of the <br />Interjurisdictional Program. <br />Hold meetings with Police Chief Kristina Bell for the purpose of <br />monitoring the Interjurisdictional Program. <br />Support Director Monaghan in strategic decisions. <br />Ensure appropriate supervision of Director Monaghan to provide <br />appropriate and lawful law enforcement services. <br />Ensure Director Monaghan keeps and maintains his status as a <br />POST-certified peace officer in the State of California. <br />Exercise reasonable care to ensure compliance with all legal, policy, <br />and ethical requirements related to interjurisdictional activities <br />performed by Director Monaghan. <br />6. Policies and Procedures <br />At all times, Director Monaghan will remain subject to the policies, procedures, and <br />General Orders of the County including those that would be applicable to him as a Chief <br />Inspector of the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office. <br />7. Financial Responsibilities <br />The City of Redwood City shall have no financial or funding responsibilities in <br />connection with Director Monaghan’s position nor shall there be any compensation paid <br />by or to the City of Redwood City in connection with Director Monaghan’s position, or <br />any administrative or operational costs associated with his activities. The County shall <br />always remain solely and entirely responsible for any and all compensation to Director <br />Monaghan, including but not limited to salary, benefits, pension costs, any overtime, <br />and associated expenses. <br />8. Dispute Resolution <br />Should any dispute arise out of this MOU, the Parties agree to attempt to reach a <br />resolution with the assistance of a mutually acceptable mediator before resorting to <br />litigation. Costs for mediation shall be equally shared among the Parties. If a mediated <br />settlement is reached, no party shall be considered the prevailing party for the purpose <br />of the resolution of the dispute.
