NO. 3/CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND SAN CARLOS FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES <br />REV: 06-20-24 VR <br />Page 13 of 28 <br />EXHIBIT “A” <br /> <br />SAN CARLOS OBLIGATIONS <br /> <br />San Carlos will retain one Fire Prevention Employee that Redwood City will <br />supervise and support. San Carlos will retain ownership of all capital equipment and <br />maintenance thereof. The billing and collection of fees for services rendered in San Carlos <br />will be the responsibility of San Carlos. <br /> <br />A. Fire Prevention Officer <br /> <br />San Carlos will employ one Fire Prevention Officer who will work under the <br />supervision of the Redwood City Fire Marshal. <br /> <br />The San Carlos Fire Prevention Officer, with the assistance of the Redwood City <br />Fire Prevention Bureau, will provide the following specific activities: <br /> <br />• Wildland urban interface inspections and enforcement <br /> <br />• State and local mandated fire and life safety inspections <br /> <br />• Plan Checking <br /> <br />• New construction inspections <br /> <br />• Builder consultation <br /> <br />• Coordination and management of Company Inspection Program <br /> <br />• Develop and provide public education services <br /> <br />• Fire origin and cause determination and investigation of fires within <br />the City of San Carlos <br /> <br />• Inspection, clearance, and issuance of fire permits <br /> <br />• Serve as a staff member within the San Carlos Emergency <br />Operations Center during EOC activations and training exercises <br /> <br />B. Fee Collection <br /> <br />San Carlos will remain responsible for the actual billing and collection of fire <br />prevention, code enforcement, inspection cost recovery, as well as report fees for San <br />Carlos. Redwood City administrative staff will maintain and electronically forward the <br />necessary information to the San Carlos Finance Department for the billing and collection <br />of said revenue within sixty (60) days after the end of each month.
