NO. 3/CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND SAN CARLOS FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES <br />REV: 06-20-24 VR <br />Page 2 of 28 <br />Participating Agencies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Participating Agencies desire to amend and restate the agreement <br />for delivery of fire and emergency services pursuant to this Agreement. <br /> <br />AGREEMENT <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, the Participating Agencies, for and in consideration of the <br />mutual benefits, covenants and agreements set forth herein, agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. Services. <br /> <br />(a) San Carlos agrees to retain a fire department including certain <br />personnel and infrastructure at its sole cost sufficient to provide specified fire and <br />emergency services, as more particularly described in Exhibit “A” attached hereto <br />and incorporated herein by reference (collectively “San Carlos Obligations”). <br /> <br />(b) Redwood City agrees through its Fire Department to provide to San <br />Carlos fire and emergency services, such as fire suppression, prevention, <br />investigation, training, and emergency medical services, all as more particularly <br />described in Exhibit “B” attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference <br />(collectively, “Services”). The Participating Agencies acknowledge that Redwood <br />City provides IT systems, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, help desk support, <br />telephone service, and in some cases, hardware and software <br />upgrades/replacements to both Redwood City and San Carlos fire stations at little <br />to no cost to San Carlos. <br /> <br />2. Staffing and Compensation. <br /> <br />(a) San Carlos shall pay Redwood City a fee for the Services pursuant <br />to the staffing and compensation schedule described in Exhibit “C”, attached <br />hereto and incorporated herein by reference. No other staffing, assistance or <br />compensation for the Services shall be allowed except for items covered by <br />subsequent amendments to this Agreement in writing. <br /> <br />(b) Within thirty days of the execution of this Agreement, San Carlos <br />shall make a retroactive payment of $492,026 to catch up on increases in costs for <br />Fiscal Year (“FY”) 2023-24. <br /> <br />(c) Effective July 1, 2024, and every year of the Agreement thereafter, <br />the cost for services will increase by 5.505% from the immediately preceding Fiscal <br />Year costs pursuant to Exhibit “C.” <br /> <br />(d) Effective July 1, 2024, San Carlos agrees to share the costs of the <br />following positions and programs in FY 2024-25.
