ATTY/RESO.0010/CC RESO AFFIRMING AUTHORITY OVER CITY FACILITIES <br />REV: 03-30-26 VR <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of <br />Redwood City affirms that the City retains primary authority to regulate, manage, and <br />control access to and use of all City-owned property and facilities, and that any use of <br />such property or facilities must be expressly authorized by the City, and any unauthorized <br />access to or use of City property or facilities is prohibited and must cease immediately <br />upon notice from the City. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any person or entity engaging in unauthorized <br />use of City property or facilities shall be directed to immediately cease such use and <br />depart the property or facility, including removing any personnel, equipment, or materials <br />brought onto City property. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the policies affirmed in this resolution apply <br />equally to all persons and entities and are intended solely to maintain the City’s lawful <br />control over its property and facilities and to ensure the orderly operation of municipal <br />government. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager, the City Attorney, and their <br />respective designees are authorized to enforce these requirements and are further <br />authorized to take steps necessary therefor, including legal action. <br /> <br />BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redwood City will <br />continue to exercise its authority to manage and protect City-owned property and facilities <br />in a manner that supports the orderly operation of municipal government and the safety <br />and well-being of the community. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />* * *
