City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org
Table 1: Funding Sources for R/W Capital Costs
Funding Source Approved Amount
State - STIP $ 8,000,000
Federal (U.S. DOT) - INFRA $ 8,000,000
County - SMCTA $ 20,000,000
Total Available R/W Funding:$ 36,000,000
Total anticipated R/W capital costs:$ 26,700,000
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA
Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Public notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72
hours prior to the meeting.
ALTERNATIVES
The City Council may choose not to approve the recommended agreement. Two alternatives are identified
below:
1. The City Council may choose not to approve the purchase agreement and instead direct staff to
reopen negotiations with the property owner. This would potentially increase the cost of the
acquisition and further delay the Project by several months. Delays in the Project mean potentially
increased costs.
2. The City Council may choose not to approve the purchase agreement and instead direct staff to modify
the Project design to avoid this property. This alternative would significantly increase the cost for
Project re-design and other resulting required acquisitions and further delay the Project by at least a
year. Delays in the Project mean potentially increased costs and may risk grant funding.
7.B. - Page 3 of 48
14
