Data collection is limited to mission-related activities, and
recordings are handled in accordance with state law and departmental policies governing digital evidence.
The policy prohibits random or indiscriminate surveillance and restricts data use and sharing to lawful
purposes, such as investigations, emergency response, or court-authorized activities. Additional
safeguards prohibit targeting individuals based on protected characteristics and require ongoing oversight
to ensure compliance with evolving legal and operational standards. Community response to the program
has been generally supportive, and the Department has received no formal complaints regarding drone
operations. The Military Equipment Use Policy was not updated prior to use of the UAS, but the acquisition
was identified in the Policy in previous years and adoption of the proposed Policy this year will correct the
noncompliance. This corrective action will ensure future compliance.
As of the end of the 2025 reporting period, the Department maintains the following drone inventory:
4 Skydio X10 (Patrol-Led) – primary patrol support and tactical response platform
1 Skydio X10 with Dock (DFR) – remotely deployable platform supporting rapid response and
situational awareness
4 DJI Avata 2
2 DJI Neo
2 DJI Mini 4 Pro
The table below summarizes drone deployments by call type from June through December 2025,
providing a breakdown of monthly activity and total incidents supported. It illustrates how the
Department has integrated UAS operations across a wide range of service calls, with the highest utilization
occurring in disturbances, welfare checks, and suspicious activity.
Call Type – June to Dec 2025 Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec Total
Disturbances 15 19 16 25 29 18 3 125
Citizen Assists / Welfare Checks 14 8 10 16 22 12 1 83
Suspicious Activity 13 9 9 6 10 13 3 63
Proactive Enforcement & Checks 8 5 7 12 14 6 2 54
Collisions & Traffic Issues 13 6 2 5 8 8 4 46
Investigative Follow-Up 4 7 4 11 9 6 4 45
Violent Crimes 7 12 2 3 8 6 1 39
Property Crimes 4 3 6 5 6 12 36
Quality of Life 7 8 2 2 12 3 1 35
Alarms 8 1 7 3 7 4 4 34
Other Crimes 1 4 2 2 5 3 17
Fires 3 2 2 3 2 1 13
Outside Assists 3 1 2 1 3 10
Missing Persons 1 1 4 1 1 8
Total Incidents 100 84 69 96 134 98 27 608
9.A. - Page 7 of 197
364
