<br /> PART I, Page | 10 <br />• Public Information, Outreach, and Community Planning <br />- Public education on identifying licensed retailers and reporting illegal <br />activity <br />- Community planning or development efforts related to cannabis impacts <br />- Outreach campaigns addressing safety risks of illicit cannabis products <br />• Environmental and Infrastructure Impacts <br />- Fire protection, fuel mitigation, and wildland/urban interface planning <br />- Water storage or resource protection related to illegal cultivation <br />- Transportation or infrastructure impacts associated with enforcement <br />operations <br /> <br />➢ PPA 1: Intended Outcomes <br />Projects should demonstrate how activities will: <br />• Reduce the prevalence of illicit commercial cannabis operations. <br />• Improve community safety and environmental conditions. <br />• Increase compliance with state and local cannabis laws. <br />• Strengthen coordination among enforcement, regulatory, and public health <br />partners. <br />• Protect consumers from unsafe, untested cannabis products. <br /> <br />➢ PPA 1: Partnership Expectations <br />Applicants are encouraged to collaborate with: <br />• Law enforcement agencies <br />• Code enforcement and environmental health departments <br />• Fire and hazardous materials teams <br />• State and regional cannabis enforcement partners <br />• Community-based organizations supporting outreach and reporting <br /> <br />Project Purpose Area 2: Public Health <br />Projects funded under this purpose area must support public health strategies that protect <br />community safety, improve health outcomes, and reduce harms associated with cannabis <br />activity. Public health efforts should strengthen local capacity to educate the community, <br />monitor health impacts, and implement policies or infrastructure improvements that <br />promote safe, healthy environments. <br /> <br />➢ PPA 2: Purpose <br />To enhance a jurisdiction’s ability to implement education, prevention, <br />environmental health, and behavioral health strategies that safeguard community <br />wellbeing. This includes activities that protect and improve the health of <br />communities through education, policy and infrastructure development, <br />environmental monitoring, and health-focused interventions. <br /> <br />7.C. - Page 18 of 101 <br />77
