<br /> PART I, Page | 11 <br />➢ PPA 2: Program Expectations <br />Public health projects should: <br />• Promote community education and outreach related to cannabis impacts. <br />• Strengthen environmental health protections, including monitoring and <br />mitigation. <br />• Improve behavioral and mental health access for individuals affected by <br />cannabis-related harms. <br />• Support policy, infrastructure, and system improvements that enhance <br />community health <br />• Ensure services are culturally relevant, trauma-informed, and accessible to <br />diverse populations. <br /> <br />➢ PPA 2: Allowable Uses of Funds <br />Activities may include, but are not limited to: <br />• Education, Training, and Outreach <br />- Public health training for staff and partners <br />- Community education campaigns and public information efforts <br />- Outreach on cannabis product safety and legal market awareness <br />• Environmental and Regulatory Health <br />- Inspection of cannabis businesses for health and safety compliance <br />- Pesticide impact monitoring and mitigation <br />- Air quality monitoring and response <br />- Drinking water and wastewater system updates <br />- Environmental system upgrades related to cannabis impacts <br />• Behavioral and Mental Health Services <br />- Behavioral health treatment related to cannabis use <br />- Mental health services addressing cannabis-related harms <br />- Early intervention and supportive services <br />• Testing, Safety, and Infrastructure <br />- Cannabis product safety testing or verification <br />- Purchase of testing or safety equipment <br />- Infrastructure improvements that support public health protections <br /> <br />➢ PPA 2: Intended Outcomes <br />Projects should demonstrate how activities will: <br />• Improve community health and safety. <br />• Increase public awareness of cannabis-related health risks. <br />• Expand access to behavioral and mental health services. <br />• Enhance local capacity to monitor, prevent, and respond to public health <br />impacts. <br /> <br /> <br />7.C. - Page 19 of 101 <br />78
