<br /> PART I, Page | 15 <br />• Strengthen local capacity to monitor, prevent, and respond to environmental <br />hazards <br />• Enhance compliance with environmental and land use regulations <br /> <br />➢ PPA 4: Partnership Expectations <br />Applicants are encouraged to collaborate with: <br />• Environmental health departments <br />• Forestry and natural resource agencies <br />• Water quality and watershed protection organizations <br />• Fire protection and hazardous materials teams <br />• Community-based environmental organizations <br /> <br />Grant Funding & Applicant Categories <br />A total of $125 million in state funding is available for local projects through this RFP, <br />contingent on timely deposits to the BSCC through the Proposition 64 Initiative (the <br />Control, Regulate and Tax Adult Use of Marijuana Act) via the State and Local <br />Government Law Enforcement Account. <br /> <br />The total available funding will be awarded within four (4) categories . The amount of <br />funding allocated to each category, and the maximum amount of grant funds an applicant <br />in each category can apply for, are shown in the following table: <br /> <br /> <br />* The categorization of a city or county as small, medium, or large is based on city and <br />county population figures published by the California Department of Finance (see <br />Appendix B).
