PUBLIC WORKS TEMPLATE FOR INFORMAL BIDDING ($100K) 12-04-25 <br />REV: 12-15-25 MI <br /> <br /> <br />APPENDIX A <br /> <br />Specification Details <br /> <br />Contract shall meet all of the following specification requirements for the project. <br /> <br />1.2 DEFINITIONS <br />A. NVLAP: National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program <br />B. NIC: Noise Isolation Class <br />C. STC: Sound Transmission Class <br /> <br />1.4 SYSTEM PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS <br />A. Acoustical Performance: Provide operable panel partitions tested by a qualified testing agency for <br />the following acoustical properties according to test methods indicated: <br />1. Sound Transmission Requirements: Operable panel partition assembly in a full-size <br />opening, 14 by 9 feet (4267 by 2742 mm), for laboratory sound transmission loss <br />performance according to ASTM E-90, determined by ASTM E-413, and rated for not <br />less than STC indicated in product description below. <br /> <br />1.5 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Product Data: Material descriptions, construction details, finishes, installation details, and <br />operating instructions for each type of operable panel partition, component, and accessory <br />specified. Included data on acoustical performance, surface-burning characteristics, and <br />durability. <br />B. Shop Drawings: Show location and extent of operable panel partitions. Include plans, elevations, <br />sections, details, attachments to other construction and accessories. Indicate dimensions; <br />weights; conditions at openings and for storage; and required installation, storage, and operating <br />clearances. Indicate location and installation requirements for hardware and track, and direction <br />of travel. Show blocking to be provided by others. <br />1. Electric Operator: Show location and details for installing operator components, switches, <br />and controls. Indicate motor size, electrical characteristics, and mounting arrangements. <br />2. Wiring Diagrams: Detail wiring for power and control systems and differentiate between <br />manufacturer-installed and field-installed wiring and between components provided by <br />operable panel partition manufacturer and those provided by others. <br />C. Setting Drawings: For embedded items and cutouts required in other work, including support <br />beam-punching template. <br />D. Samples for Initial Selection: Manufacturer's color charts showing the full range of colors <br />available for units with factory-applied color finishes. <br />E. Product Certificates: Submit letter signed by manufacturer certifying that operable walls to be <br />furnished on this project comply with the requirements of the specification. <br />F. Product Test Reports: From an independent testing agency indicating that each operable panel <br />partition complies with requirements. Submit the following: <br />1. Report for STC. <br />2. Proof load testing of track/trolley/bracket/hanger rod assembly. Other proof load tests as <br />may be identified in the "PART 2" of this specification. <br />G. Maintenance Data: For the following to include in maintenance manuals specified in Division 1: <br />1. Panel finishes and finishes for exposed trim and accessories. Include precautions for <br />materials and methods that could be detrimental to finishes and performance. <br />2. Seals, hardware, track, carriers, and other operating components. <br />3. For electric operator. <br /> <br />1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE
