Installer Qualifications: An experienced installer who is certified in writing by the operable wall <br />manufacturer as qualified to install the manufacturer's partition system for work similar in material, <br />design, and extent to that indicated for this project. <br />B. Testing Agency Qualifications: An independent NVLAP-accredited testing laboratory with <br />experience and capability to conduct the testing indicated, as documented according to ASTM E- <br />548. <br />C. Fire-Test-Response Characteristics: Provide operable wall partitions with the following fire-test- <br />response characteristics <br />1. Surface-Burning Characteristics: As follows, per ASTM E-84: <br />a. Flame Spread: 25 or less <br />2. Fire Growth Contribution: Textile wall coverings comply with the acceptance criteria of <br />UBC Standard 8-2. <br />D. Electrical Components, Devices, and Accessories: Listed and labeled as defined in NFPA 70 <br />Article 100, by a testing agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction, and marked for <br />intended use. <br /> <br />1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING <br />A. Deliver materials in protective packaging. <br />B. Deliver materials in order as required by schedule for installation. <br />C. Handle materials in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. <br /> <br />1.8 PROJECT CONDITIONS <br />A. Field Measurements: Verify operable panel partition openings and storage arrangements by field <br />measurements before fabrication and indicate measurements on Shop Drawings. Coordinate <br />fabrication schedule with construction progress to avoid delaying the work. <br /> <br />1.9 PRODUCT WARRANTY <br />A. TRACK <br />1. Provide 1-year all inclusive warranty covering defects in material and workmanship. <br />2. Covered components shall include track, trolleys and (if appropriate) track curves, <br />intersections, switches and control devices exclusive of wiring. <br />3. Covered components for electric operable walls shall also include drive components, <br />motor-operator, control switches, limit switches, and any optional safety feature such as <br />safety mat or safety edge that may be associated with the wall. <br />B. PANELS <br />1. Provide 1-year all inclusive warranty covering defects in material and workmanship. <br />2. Warranty shall cover structural members, panel faces, panel trim, hardware and <br />operating components. <br />C. 5-YEAR PANEL LIMITED WARRANTY: Provide 5-year limited warranty for welded steel panels <br />located at Community Room.Warranty shall cover structural members, panel faces, panel trim, <br />hardware and operating components.In the event warranty covered items fail or have their <br />performance materially reduced due to defects in workmanship or materials, the manufacturer <br />shall repair or provide replacement parts FOB jobsite, not including unloading or installation. <br />Warranty shall not exclude "normal wear and tear". <br />D. All warranties shall commence on the date of substantial completion of the installation, when <br />performed by manufacturer or walls' provider. <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.1 MANUFACTURERS <br />A. Manufacturers shall have at least five-years' experience in the production of acoustical operable <br />walls. <br />B. Available Manufacturers: Subject to compliance with construction and performance requirements <br />of this specification, manufacturers offering products that may be incorporated into the Work <br />include but are not limited to the following: <br />1.
