PUBLIC WORKS TEMPLATE FOR INFORMAL BIDDING ($100K) 12-04-25 <br />REV: 12-15-25 MI <br />1. Service Factor: According to NEMA MG 1, unless noted otherwise. Enclosure: Open drip <br />proof, unless otherwise indicated. <br />2. Provide minimum 1/2 HP motor; 208/240V 3-phase. <br />3. Provide 24v, single phase, control circuits. <br />4. Operable wall shall be geared to move panels at nominal 24 feet per minute. <br />G. Limit Switches: Adjustable limit switches, interlocked with motor controls and set to automatically <br />stop operable panel partition at fully extended and fully stacked positions. <br />H. Remote-Control Stations: Community Room Two single-key-operated, constant pressure control <br />stations located remotely from each other on opposite sides and opposite ends of partition run. <br />Wire in series to require simultaneous activation of both key stations to operate partition. Provide <br />two keys per station. <br /> <br />2.7. ACCESSORIES <br />A. Storage Pocket Door: Operable wall/s at Community Room shall have acoustical storage pocket <br />doors. Storage pocket doors shall conceal stacked partition and have same materials, finish, <br />construction, thickness and acoustical qualities as panels; complete with operating hardware. <br />1. Unless noted otherwise in this specification or on drawings, storage pocket doors shall <br />utilize wall manufacturer's standard method for securing pocket doors in closed position. <br />B. Electrical Interlocks: Provide each motorized operable panel partition with electric interlocks at <br />locations indicated, to prevent operation of operable partition under the following conditions: <br />1. On partitions at location of convergence by another, to prevent operation if abutting <br />partition is in place. <br />2. On pocket door, to prevent operation if pocket door is not in fully open position. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.1 EXAMINATION <br />A. Examine flooring, structural support, and opening, with installer present, for compliance <br />requirements for installation tolerances and other conditions affecting performance of operable <br />panel partitions. Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been <br />corrected. <br /> <br />3.2 INSTALLATION <br />A. General: Comply with ASTM E 557, operable panel partition manufacturer's written installation <br />instructions, Drawings, and approved Shop Drawings. Install operable wall/s and accessories <br />after other finishing operations, including painting, have been completed. <br />B. Install panels in sequence as indicated on the shop drawings. <br />C. Broken, cracked, chipped, deformed, or unmatched panels are not acceptable. <br /> <br />3.3 ADJUSTING <br />A. Adjust operable panel partitions to operate smoothly, easily, and quietly, free from binding, warp, <br />excessive deflection, distortion, nonalignment, misplacement, disruption, or malfunctioning, <br />throughout entire operational range. Lubricate hardware and other moving parts as indicated by <br />wall manufacturer. <br />B. If present, adjust pass doors or pocket doors to operate smoothly and easily, without binding or <br />warping. Check and readjust operating hardware. Confirm that latches and locks engage <br />accurately without forcing or binding <br /> <br />3.4 CLEANING AND PROTECTION <br />A. Clean soiled surfaces on completing installation of operable panel partitions, to remove dust, <br />adhesives, and other foreign materials according to manufacturer's written instructions. <br />B. Provide final protection and maintain conditions, in a manner acceptable to manufacturer and <br />installer, that ensure operable panel partitions are without damage or deterioration at time of <br />Completion. <br />C. Replace panels that cannot be cleaned and/or repaired, in a manner approved by City, before <br />time Completion.
