Notice of Eligibility for Relocation Assistance
November 24, 2025
Denny’s, Franchisee
123 Main St
Redwood City, CA 94063
Recently, the City of Redwood City (City) presented the Property Owner with a written offer to
purchase the property at 1201 Broadway Street, Redwood City, CA 94063 (Property). This Notice of
Eligibility for Relocation Assistance provides guidance to Denny’s concerning certain relocation
assistance available under Relocation Assistance Laws.
The City, in conjunction with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and the San
Mateo County Transportation Authority (SMCTA), proposes to improve US Highway 101 (US 101),
State Route 84 (Woodside Road) interchange in the City of Redwood City. The project will widen and
add lanes to SR 84, reconstruct all ramp connections to US 101, and construct direct-connect flyover
ramps between US 101 and Veterans Boulevard. The project would also construct pedestrian and
bicycle facilities throughout the project area and improve the intersections of Woodside Road with
Veterans Boulevard, Broadway, and Bay Road to the south of US 101, and Seaport Boulevard/East
Bayshore Road/Blomquist Road to the north of US 101.
The Property is situated within the project area. As a result, the City has initiated negotiations with
the property owners to purchase certain property interests. If the City is successful in its efforts to
acquire the property, Denny’s as the franchisor may be eligible for various relocation payments and
assistance.
Individuals, families, businesses, farms and nonprofit organizations who are displaced as a result of a
public project may be eligible to receive relocation advisory services and reimbursement for eligible
relocation expenses as provided by the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition
Policies Act of 1970, as amended, (URA1) and California Relocation Assistance Law (CRAL2). This
Notice of Eligibility for Relocation Assistance provides you with foundational information about
available relocation services and payments.
ENGINEERING AND TRANSPORTATION
DEPARTMENT
1017 Middlefield Road
Redwood City, CA 94063
(650) 780-7380
Fax (650) 780-0128
Appendix C to Relocation Impact Memorandum
ATTY/RESO.0015/CC RESO APPROVING THE RELOCATION IMPACT MEMORANDUM FOR THE 84/101 REIMAGINED PROJECT - EXHIBIT A
REV: 04-20-26 VR
