Preliminary Draft for City Review
Relocation Appeal Policy and Process
November 2025
Page | 5
Exhibit B: Relocation Appeal Policy Summary
The Uniform Act provides that a person may file a written appeal to the City if the person believes
that the City has failed to properly determine the person’s eligibility for, or the amount of a payment
authorized, by the Uniform Act. If an individual is dissatisfied, the person (Appellant) may submit a
letter to the City within 90 days of the claim being rejected, stating all of the relevant facts and the
reasons the person believes the claim should be paid or adjusted. The City will consider a written
appeal regardless of form.
The City will permit the Appellant to inspect and copy all materials pertinent to the appeal, except
for materials that have been classified as confidential. In deciding the appeal, the City will consider
all pertinent justification and other material submitted by the Appellant. The City will then make
written determination of the appeal, including an explanation of the basis on which the decision
was made, and furnish the Appellant a copy. The City will advise the Appellant of the right to seek
judicial review.
Appendix D to Relocation Impact Memorandum
ATTY/RESO.0015/CC RESO APPROVING THE RELOCATION IMPACT MEMORANDUM FOR THE 84/101 REIMAGINED PROJECT - EXHIBIT A
REV: 04-20-26 VR
