Page 1 of 5 <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />DATE: July 13, 2026 <br />SUBJECT <br />Housing and Human Concerns Committee (HHCC) Fiscal Year 2026-27 funding recommendations for <br />Redwood City Human Services Financial Assistance (HSFA) Program <br />SUMMARY <br />The HSFA program has supported nonprofit organizations serving Redwood City residents since 1974, with <br />a focus on meeting basic human needs such as food security, housing stability, legal assistance, crisis <br />counseling, and supporting services for vulnerable populations, including seniors, individuals with <br />disabilities, families experiencing homelessness, and survivors of domestic violence. HHCC received a total <br />of $166,000 in requests and had $150,000 to distribute for HSFA funding. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve funding recommendations for the Human Services Financial Assistance Program as <br />delineated in Attachment A and authorize the City Manager to execute funding agreements and all related <br />documents to effectuate the funding recommendations delineated in Attachment A. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN GUIDING PRINCIPLE <br />Healthy Community for All <br />BACKGROUND <br />Human Services Financial Assistance (HSFA) funds support a broad range of human services provided by <br />non-profit community partners to Redwood City residents. HSFA funds currently focus on supporting basic <br />human needs in the community, consistent with the City's Strategic Plan Guiding Principle of a Healthy <br />Community for All.
