REV: 06-24-26 VR
5.Staff Training Programs
CORA recognizes the importance of equipping staff with the skills necessary to
support individuals experiencing domestic violence. Our quarterly training
sessions will enable City of Redwood City staff to:
Identify signs and symptoms of domestic abuse, including strangulation and
other forms of harm.
Understand the various types of abuse and their impact.
Respond sensitively and effectively to clients disclosing their experiences.
These training sessions will enhance City of Redwood City staff capacity to identify
domestic violence, so they are better equipped to refer clients to CORA, thereby
increasing access to timely domestic violence services.
6.Tabling and Outreach
Tabling and outreach initiatives are vital for CORA’s mission to strengthen
community ties. These efforts focus on providing accessible education, sharing
vital resources, and ongoing support to empower individuals and promote
prevention. By engaging with the community in visible and approachable ways,
CORA fosters awareness and helps to break the cycle of violence.
During these events, CORA will distribute informational materials, such as pamphlets,
contact information, and support resources, ensuring individuals have the tools and
knowledge needed to seek help when necessary.
ATTY/AGR.2026.161/Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse (CORA) (Page 11 of 12)
