I wanted to acknowledge receipt and also reiterate my <br />appreciation to you and the other members of the AECOM team for meeting with me on <br />multiple occasions, as well as for recently meeting with our 84/101 Ad Hoc Committee. I <br />appreciate the time you have spent working through these issues with us. <br />I think I have made my position regarding the current situation clear. Assuming the City <br />Council approves my recommendation to approve the contract amendment on Monday <br />night, my commitment to you—and my expectation of everyone involved—is that we <br />work collaboratively to ensure we do not find ourselves in this situation again. <br />I appreciate the steps you outlined below to improve project controls, invoicing, and <br />financial reporting. Assuming the amendment is approved, I also look forward to being at <br />the table more regularly so that I can stay closer to the project, track progress more <br />routinely, and help address issues as they arise. <br />Along those lines, I encourage you and the rest of the AECOM team to be very proactive <br />in your communication moving forward. If something is getting held up, if an outside <br />agency is creating a challenge, or if you see an issue emerging that could affect the <br />schedule, budget, or overall delivery of the project, I want to know about it as early as <br />possible. <br />As you noted, the project is operating on a very aggressive schedule as we work toward <br />construction in 2027. We do not have much margin for additional delays. I have no <br />problem reaching out to people I know in the industry, our legislative representatives, or <br />other partners if doing so can help resolve an issue and keep the project moving forward. <br />My team is well aware of this expectation, and I wanted to make sure you and the rest of <br />the AECOM team know that as well. <br />I can be an ally in helping everyone succeed and keeping this project moving, but I need <br />timely and transparent information in order to be effective in that role.
