Learn why this is important <br />Ref: Meeting ID 994 8182 5639 <br />Agenda Item:8A, Authorizing sale of Spring Street Segment to 1900 Broadway <br />Developer. <br />I would like to state my opinion on this plan: it’s a NO. <br />As a resident and daily walker in the downtown area I think the removal of the large, <br />healthy trees at that “parklet” would be a huge mistake. I think the advantages to <br />keeping them far outweigh the new offices and concrete “public areas” promised by <br />the developer. <br />As noted above, I have been walking the streets of downtown for over 10 years. <br /> Mature trees are being taken out one by one. Most recently on Main Street. I also <br />saw the big trees next to city hall will be taken out when the bank is redeveloped. <br /> Have you any idea how much COOLER a street with trees is to be on? They also <br />produce cleaner air, the mature ones, not the little trees put into replace them. If they <br />are replaced. <br />We have MOORE that enough empty office space, note the building behind Marsden <br />apartments, empty since being built. <br />Redwood City, the name will have to change, there will be no trees left. <br />Rgds, <br />Stephanie Mackay, 830 Main Street, Redwood City
