The League's regional public affairs managers were notified of <br />this schedule change a few weeks ago and have been relaying the information to city officials. <br /> <br />The decision was made to postpone the annual lobbying event in Sacramento so that the League <br />and our members can focus on signature gathering to qualify the Local Taxpayer, Public Safety <br />and Transportation Protection Act. <br /> <br />The event will likely be rescheduled for a later date. Please stay tuned to City Advocate Weekly <br />for information or log on to www.cacities.ora/events. <br /> <br />COPS Allocations Available <br /> <br />COPS grant allocations to cities and counties now come from a temporary 0.15 percent Vehicle <br />License Fee (VLF) rate. The rate was imposed May 19, 2009 and now funds a variety of law <br />enforcement programs previously paid for by the state general fund. <br /> <br />Based on new VLF revenue estimates from the California Department of Finance, the California <br />Local Government Finance Almanac has updated its FY 2009-10 agency by agency allocation <br />estimates and projected FY 2010-11 amounts. <br /> <br />For the complete report, please visit CalifornlaCityFinance.com at <br />www.californiacitvfinance.com/SLESF-COPS11 100125.odf. <br /> <br />New Estimates Available for Local Streets and Roads Allocations <br /> <br />New estimates of FY 2009-10 and FY 2010-11 Proposition 42 Local Streets and Roads <br />allocations are now posted on the California Local Government Finance Almanac at <br />www.callfornlacitvfinance.com/Proo42alloc.odf.
