Based upon the bids <br />received, staff believes that the low bid of $1,329,446.17 is reasonable and <br />recommends awarding the contract to Spiess Construction Co., Inc. of Santa Maria. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Council may choose not to award the contract for the Redwood City Recycled Water <br />Project - Distribution Pump Station Capacity Increase project, direct staff to redesign <br />and/or readvertise this project for public bidding. Recycled water service to Seaport <br />area customers would be significantly impacted. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds for the proposed construction contract are available from the Water Revenue <br />Bond proceeds. The city has issued a series of Water Revenue Bonds totaling $72 <br />million to finance Phase 1 of the Recycled Water Project.
