~ ......---- RES 0 L UTI 0 N NO. 1976 GRANTING VARIANCE TO ALGIERS MOTEL TO ALLOW EXTENSION OF R-4 USE FOR MOTEL PURPOSES VJHEREAS, the Planning Conunission of Redwood Ci ty has submitted the application of the ALGIERS MOTEL for a variance with the recommendation that such application be granted in accordance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 600, said ordinance being the zoning ordinance of the City of Redwood City; NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: 1. Said Council finds that the following conditions exist: (a) That there are exceptional or extraordinary circumstances which apply to the land, building or use referred to in the app'lication, which circumstances or conditions do not generally apply to lands, building or uses in the same district. (b) That the granting of the application is necessary for the preservation and enjoyment of substantial property rights of the petitioner. (c) That the granting of such application will not materially affect adversely neighboring property or the public welfare or the health o~ safety of persons residing or working in the neighbor- hood. 2. Said Council hereby grants to the ALGIERS MOTEL a variance to allow extension of a R-4 use into all of the property hereinafter described, for motel purposes, upon the following conditions: (1 ) (2 ) rrhat all construction shall be completed not later than six (6) months from the date of this Resolution. That all of such construction shall be strictly in accordance with the plans heretofore submitted and approved by the Planning Comnission and Council of the City of Redwood City. -1-
