The Alliance has responded to requests from <br />school districts who would like to participate. <br /> <br />Strategies: <br /> <br />· Continue to conduct targeted campaigns at in- <br />terested school districts. Work with schools to <br />distribute carpool incentive information to parents <br />at the beginning of school semesters. <br /> <br />. Partner with Safe Route To School initiatives to of- <br />fer broader array of school commute options. The <br />type of partnership would depend on overall Safe <br />Route to School program components of Alliance <br />member cities. <br /> <br />Measure of Effectiveness: <br /> <br />· Annually calculate the peak period auto trips re- <br />duced, annual emissions reduced, and participation <br />in commute alternatives by schools participating in <br />Alliance programs. <br /> <br />7B <br />Page 19 <br /> <br />PROGRAM AREA 2: Working With <br />Commuters to Explore and Utilize <br />Alternative Transportation <br /> <br />This Program Area focuses on Alliance programs that <br />directly influence commuter travel behavior by providing <br />incentives to try transit and ridesharlng options and pro- <br />moting services directly to commuters. <br /> <br />The existing programs include: <br />I.
