This effort was undertaken with the cooperation of staff from the City of <br />Belmont. Certain assumptions made during design in an attempt to reduce cost did not <br />have favorable results. Caltrans also made some concessions on some of the high <br />value equipment that can be eliminated from the project. These adjustments will be <br />made prior to the call for bids in order to minimize project cost. <br /> <br />AL TERNA TIVES <br />Council may choose to award the contract as bid and forego the ARRA grant funding. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />A total of $350,000.00 in ARRA grant funds have been requested specifically for this <br />project. Additional and previously appropriated funding is available from Capital <br />Projects Fund - Shores Traffic Improvement District Construction Funds, with a balance <br />of $433,589 as of January 30, 2010, to provide for the remaining cost of the contract. <br /> <br />~\l-YL <br /> <br />S.
