<br />TASKS FOR WALKING BUS PILOT PROJECT <br /> <br />1. Review documents developed to date. 8 H ou rs <br />2. Meet with the City and County Manager (or designee) to explain the 2 Hours <br /> project and gain support to commit necessary County staff. <br />3. Meet with School personnel to gain support of staff. 2 H ou rs <br />4. Meet with relevant City staff or County staff to explain the project, 6 H ou rs <br /> identify concerns/issues and identify main point of contact. <br />5. Meet with School personnel to explain the project, identify concerns/issues 2 Hours <br /> and to get information on parent support groups, current deployment of <br /> crossing guards and related information. <br />6. Write summary of the meetings with City/ County and School District staff. 3 Hou rs <br />7. Meet with and review findings/observations of Stanford student team 8 Hours <br /> (meetings will occur over the course of the assignment) <br />8. Organize and conduct walkability tours (likely 2) to involve the appropriate 16 Hours <br /> School and City/County staff along with stakeholders identified by the <br /> consultant, County and School (to include a subset of parents) <br />9. Work with City/County contact to identify improvements to make the 8 H ou rs <br /> walking bus route work. <br /> <br />10. Convene School and City/County personnel (decision makers) to agree on 12 Hours <br />the route and determine what the requirements (temporary and permanent) <br />are to make the route operational by the beginning of fall, 2010 and write <br />the plan for operationalizing the walking bus. <br /> <br />11. Work with the School and City/County to gain commitment (or identify if 10 Hours <br />there is not sufficient commitment) to make the walking bus plan operational <br />no later than August 2010. <br /> <br />12. Develop metrics (in concert with the City, County, School, RWC 2020) to 8 Hours <br />evaluate the success of the walking bus at the pilot school. <br /> <br />13. Write a document that memorializes the process used to establish the 12 Hours <br />pilot walking school bus in order that it can be used for other Schools <br />in the District. <br /> <br />14.
