<br />EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />CONSULTANT'S SCOPE OF WORK FOR WALKING BUS PROJECT <br /> <br />The consultant will provide the following scope of services during the period starting <br />when this contract is approved and ending June 30,2010: <br /> <br />1. Review the work done to date by the School District, County, City and Stanford <br />University Urban Studies students. <br />2. Conduct meetings with decision makers at the District, Fair Oaks School and <br />County to gain commitment for the necessary staff expertise to be assigned to <br />the project. <br />3. Meet with assigned County and School staff to design the best route(s) for a <br />walking bus for the pilot school. <br />4. Determine in concert with School and County staff the necessary improvements <br />(temporary and permanent) for the route to become operational have been <br />implemented. <br />5. Work with the School to involve the parents and to identify volunteers (and/or if <br />crossing guards need to be redeployed) that will be integral to the walking bus <br />6. Establish in concert with Redwood City 2020, the County, City and School <br />District metrics to evaluate the success of the pilot walking bus pilot <br />7. Memorialize the process used in making the walking bus operational in order that <br />it can be applied to other schools within the School District <br />8. Work with Urban Studies students in April and May 2010 to support their efforts <br />to assess interest and readiness for the Walking School Bus Program at 2-3 <br />additional RCSD sites. <br /> <br />The consultant will provide the following deliverables within the scope of services: <br />· Summary of meetings held with County, City and School District personnel. <br />· List of physical improvements needed to make the route for the walking bus work <br />(costs estimates will be developed by the County staff and not the consultant) <br />· Description of the route(s) selected for the pilot walking bus (actual map will be <br />provided by the school) <br />· Walking School Bus plan for the pilot school (including the necessary elements: <br />volunteers, crossing guards, traffic enforcement and others as determined) <br />· Metrics to evaluate the success of the pilot effort (established in concert with the <br />School District, County and RWC 2020) <br />· Narrative of the process used to establish the walking bus for the pilot school in <br />sufficient detail to be employed for other schools in the District. <br />· Assessment of readiness for implementing Walking School Bus Program at 2-3 <br />additional sites for the 2010-11 school year. <br /> <br />Agreement over $1 OK 9 <br />City Attorney Approved Version 012710 <br />
