In general, the structural work will consists of the
following:
. Task 1: Conduct a field review and assessment of the existing 200-foot long engineered
channel located along Redwood Creek between Valota Road and Sierra Street and prepare
Type Selection recommendations for the existing channel replacement! rehabilitation.
· Task 2: Prepare plans, specifications and estimates for the existing channel replacement!
rehabilitation

Per our discussions, the existing channel was constructed in the 1960s and consists of a concrete
invert slab, ......8-foot high sack concrete slope protection along the south bank, and .....8-foot high
concrete lining along the north bank.. It is our understanding from the City that the existing south
bank is in relatively good condition and that the north bank has exhibited signs of distress
including significant inward rotation of the concrete lining> washout of material from the existing
weepholes and loss of backfill material from behind the wall. Per our review of the City supplied
field photos, it appears that the existing concrete wall will likely require replacement (rather than
rehabilitation) due to the significant rotation of the wall towards the creek.

Scope oj Work

Task 1: Field Review and Tvoe Selection:
· Review available project data. Data for review will include, but not necessarily be limited to:
o As-built Record Drawings
o Maintenance Reports
o Photographic Records
o Previous field measurements
o City base mapping

-~~
-.:iiiI__I,
