The approved <br />alternative would be included in proposed amendments to sections 6.1, 6.2 arid 6.6 of Article 6 of <br />the City's Zoning Ordinance. The proposed text amendments for each applicable subsection, and <br />the text of each alternative are shown below, with the proposed code text changes underlined: <br /> <br />6.1 Purpose. <br /> <br />"To stabilize and maintain the residential character of the district and permit a suitable environment <br />for family living on a smaller scale by permitting a higher density with two (2) or three (3) families to <br />the lot. or low-scale multi-family planned development includina attached and detached sinale- <br />family homes on small lots. while maintaining individual privacy, open space, and facilities." <br /> <br />6.2 Permitted Uses. <br />'The following structures and uses are permitted in the R-2 District: <br />A. Single-family dwellings; <br />S. Two (2)-family (duplex) dwellings; <br />C. Three (3)-family (triplex) dwellings; <br />D. Accessory dwellings, subject also to the definition set forth in 2.5,2 and the provisions of <br />Article 37; <br />E.
