This letter contains
a description of our proposed additional scope of services and the associated budget
amendment.

Background

The City plans to increase the hydraulic capacity of the Recycled Water DPS to meet the
demands anticipated for the 2010 irrigation season. The City has requested support from
Kennedy/Jenks to assist with the procurement of new main pumps and related equipment that
will be installed in the DPS as part of the increase in hydraulic capacity. A description of the
requested additional services is provided below.

Proposed Scope of Services

To support the City's aggressive schedule for the DPS Capacity Increase Project, the City
requested that Kennedy/Jenks provide support for the procurement of the DPS new main
pumps. It is intended that the Kennedy/Jenks efforts will assist in the initiation of the purchase
process on these long-lead time items such that the pumps are available for installation during
the 2010 irrigation season. In addition, the City requested engineering support from
Kennedy/Jenks for the design of a repair to a structural joint at the wall and roof deck of the
existing recycled water storage tanks, and to provide coordination services related to necessary
shutdowns of the DPS during' construction to help the City avoid recycled water service
interruptions.

Following are descriptions of the requested scope items.

p:\09\0988015.00 _cityofredwoodcity _rw _distils_capacity _ increaselsection_ 02.contracts_&_agreements\2.03.
contract_changeJequests_&_correspondencelaugmenLP umps.sole.source.procurement\new _dps.capacity .increase _budget amendJeller .rroposal.doc
