Additional effort in support of sole-source procurement agreement: Kennedy/Jenks <br />will also conduct the following activities related to the sole-source procurement <br />agreement <br /> <br />i. Prepare a separate package of procurement documents (including technical <br />specifications) and conduct the review of the Flowserve shop drawings for the main <br />pumps. <br /> <br />ii. Provide coordination with Flowserve on behalf of the City to address questions and <br />concerns identified by both the City and Flowserve. <br /> <br />iii. Field support for the Flowserve main pump manufacturing process. This effort will <br />include making arrangements for additional field measurements to provide <br />orientation and dimensional information to Flowserve to coordinate with the <br />production/fabrication schedule. <br /> <br />d. Additional front-end specification coordination: To support the sole-source <br />procurement of the main pumps, Kennedy/Jenks will work with City staff and the City's <br />consultants to modify provisions in the City's contract documents Effort is anticipated to <br />include consultations with the City's attorneys. <br /> <br />2. Structural modifications to correct the location of DSP roof deck expansion ioint - <br /> <br />a. Back~round: City noted that a construction joint at the roof parapet between the DPS <br />and DSP Storage Tank NO.1 was exhibiting spalling concrete and cracking, which <br />caused concern .among City staff. Kennedy/Jenks' lead structural engineer on the <br />design of the project conducted a site visit to visually observe the field conditions. It was <br />reported back that the expansion joint for the storage tank roof deck was constructed in <br />a location that was not indicated in the original design drawings. Due to the expansion <br />and contraction of the roof deck and the location of the expansion joint, the concrete <br />around the joint in the parapet was spalling. <br /> <br />b. Kennedv/Jenks' activities: At the City's request, Kennedy/Jenks will review the original <br />structural analysis, compare the original design to current conditions at the DPS, and <br />develop design details and specifications for the modification of the expansion joint as <br />part of the DPS Capacity Increase Project. <br /> <br />3. Support DPS Shutdown Plannin~ <br /> <br />a.
