<br />3.03 EQUIPMENT STARTUP AND ADJUSTMENT <br /> <br />A. Arrange for an authorized factory-trained representative of the company or <br />companies supplying the various items of equipment to check the installation and <br />adjust and test the equipment furnished before the acceptance of the work by the <br />Owner. Said representative shall be experienced and knowledgeable of the <br />equipment being tested. Furthermore, he shall assist and instruct the operating <br />staff in adjusting and operating the equipment during the initial plant operation <br />period. <br />1. Provide initial lubrication for all equipment. <br />2. Test and demonstrate to the Owner or Owner's representative that all <br />equipment operates properly and specified performance has been attained. <br />For pumps, include measurement of suction and discharge pressure at the <br />pump and measurement of pumping rate by volumetric means or through a <br />suitably calibrated meter for two points on the performance curve. For <br />adjustable-speed pumps, conduct tests at a minimum of two speeds. Furnish <br />any test equipment or measuring devices required, which are not part of the <br />permanent installation. <br />3. In addition, demonstrate that the entire facility is in full operating condition prior <br />to the acceptance of the work. Should any equipment, or part thereof, fail to <br />operate as intended, immediately remove and replace it, all at the Contractor's <br />expense. Pay for all tests involved in this Section. <br />4. Pressure test equipment and connections thereto as required by these <br />Specifications. <br /> <br />3.04 TOOLS, LOOSE PARTS, AND LUBRICANTS <br /> <br />A. Tools and Loose Parts Supplied: Provide an inventory of tools and loose parts <br />required to be supplied under the project. Turn over inventory and parts to the <br />Owner. The Owner's written acknowledgment of receipt is required for project <br />completion. Loose parts are defined as items such as special tools, keys, safety <br />equipment, and portable equipment. Refer to Section VERTICAL TURBINE <br />PUMPS of these Specifications for additional instructions. <br /> <br />B. Recommended Spare Parts: Furnish a complete list of recommended spare parts <br />and supplies for each piece of equipment furnished with current prices and a source <br />of supply. <br /> <br />C.
