<br />6.1A <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT <br />PAMELA THOMPSON, CITY ATTORNEY <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT is entered into as of the 10th day of June, 2008, by <br />and between the City of Redwood City, a Charter City and Municipal <br />Corporation of the State of California ("City") and Pamela Thompson <br />CEmployee"). <br /> <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to employ Employee as the City Attorney for <br />the City of Redwood City and Employee wishes to serve as the City Attorney of <br />City under the terms and conditions set forth herein. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. Commencing August 4, 2010, Employee shall be employed as the City <br />Attorney of the City and shall perform those duties of the City Attorney as <br />specified in City's Charter, Municipal Code and regulations or statutes as <br />well as such other lawful duties assigned to the Employee by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />2. Employee shall receive a salary of $17, 256.00 per month, payable in <br />installments at the same time other City employees are paid. <br /> <br />3. Employee shall be entitled to the benefits specified in City of Redwood <br />City Executive Management Summary of Benefits (Dated August, 2007) <br />as the same now exists or is hereafter amended, which is attached hereto <br />as Exhibit A and incorporated herein. Employee shall accrue vacation at <br />the rate of 7.692 hours per pay period and sick leave at the rate of 3.692 <br />hours per pay period. <br /> <br />4. Employee is an at-will employee of the City and nothing in this document <br />shall prevent, limit or otherwise interfere with the right of the City Council <br />to terminate the services of Employee at any time, subject to the <br />provisions of Section 5. <br /> <br />Nothing in this document shall prevent, limit or otherwise interfere with <br />Employee's right to resign at any time from his position with City, subject <br />to the provisions of Section 5. <br /> <br />Employee shall remain in the exclusive employ of the City and neither <br />accept other employment nor become employed by any other employer. <br />The term "employed" shall not be construed to include occasional teaching <br />or writing, performed on the Employee's personal time. <br /> <br />A ITY / AGR/20 10.051 <br />062210 <br /> <br />1 <br />
