<br />6.28 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY APPROVING A TRANSFER FROM THE COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) MULTI-FAMILY <br />REHABILITATION FUNDS TO PHASE 1 OF THE 1306 MAIN <br />STREET APARTMENTS REHABILITATION PROJECT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in July of 2009, 1306 Main Street was acquired for the purpose of <br />providing affordable housing to meet the Council adopted Consolidated Plan goals for <br />2005-2010 to meet the needs of low income and special needs populations through the <br />Housing First Program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the real property located at 1306 Main Street Redwood City <br />California (hereinafter the "Property") is a multi family building having a total of 23 units, <br />comprised of a one bedroom unit and 22 studio units; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager authorized a public works contract for $90,874.00 <br />to repair and rehabilitate seven of the vacant units at 1306 Main Street (Phase 1); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, two subsequent change orders increased the value of the Phase 1 <br />contract by $8,165.00 to a sum of $99,039.00; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, due to the extent of repair and rehabilitation required, an additional <br />change order that includes replacement of all doors, heaters and toilets, additional <br />electrical repairs, and additional large debris removal is now necessary to complete the <br />rehabilitation of the seven vacant units in the amount of $16,532.00; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a final change order up to $5,000.00 is also anticipated to complete <br />the "punch list" items to complete Phase 1. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The City Council approves the appropriation transfer of $21,532.00 from <br />Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) multi-family rehabilitation funds (Account <br />No. 257-68361-93-1732) to Phase I of the 1306 Main Street Apartments Rehabilitation <br />Project (Account No. 257-68383-93-1732). <br /> <br />2.
