DES:d~ 08/29/96 (071/9) <br /> DES:d.~_ 09/23/96R <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br /> THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. The foregoing recitals are, and each of them is, <br />true and correct and the Council so determines. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. The Council of the City of Redwood City hereby <br />finds and determines that the public necessity, health, safety <br />and welfare require the establishment of an underground utility <br />district to accomplish the purposes set forth in Resolution No. <br />12895, adopted September 16, 1996, by said Council, within the <br />area described in Exhibit "A" hereof, attached hereto and by this <br />reference incorporated herein; and this Council hereby further <br />finds and determines that each and all of the following specific <br />matters in furtherance of the general public interest exist with <br />relation to said underground utility district: <br /> <br /> (a) Such undergrounding will avoid or eliminate a heavy <br /> concentration of overhead electric facilities. <br /> <br /> (b) The streets, roads, alleys, or ways in the district are <br /> extensively used by the general public and carry a <br /> heavy volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3. Said District is hereby established and declared <br />formed, and designated as "UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. <br />1996-1". <br /> <br /> SECTION 4. The boundaries of the District are hereby fixed <br />and determined as set forth and described in Exhibit A. Reference <br />is hereby made to the map of said District boundaries as depicted <br />on Exhibit "B" hereof, attached hereto and by this reference <br />incorporated herein, for a general description of the District. <br /> <br /> SECTION 5.
