V. 18 -1 <br />REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manaqer <br />January 27, 2003 <br />Subject <br />Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement for Professional Services with Anderson Bruce' <br />Architects, Inc. (ABA) to add requirement for providing a 3 -D computer massing model, <br />and participating in additional public meetings for the possible Redwood City Branch <br />Library in Redwood Shores. <br />Recommendation <br />Approve and authorize execution of Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement with ABA for <br />providing a 3 -D computer- massing model, and participating in additional meetings as <br />required, in an amount not to exceed $7,765.00. <br />Background <br />On September 23, 2002, the City contracted with ABA to provide professional services <br />for developing a needs assessment, preparing conceptual plans, holding public <br />meetings, completing the State Grant application for Libraries, and other professional <br />architectural and engineering services, as required for the proposed Redwood City <br />Branch Library in Redwood Shores. The needs assessment and conceptual design are <br />proceeding with a planned completion of the Grant application being submitted to the <br />state by March 28, 2003. <br />As part of the development of the conceptual design, and to portray to the community <br />what the proposed Library will look like, the provision of a three - dimensional mass - <br />modeling is being requested. Also, additional time is required for attending and <br />participating in meetings with the public and jurisdictional agencies that may arise, to <br />gain consensus and approval of the needs assessment and conceptual design. <br />Alternative <br />Council can elect to not approve Amendment No. 2, and thus, not authorize the <br />consultant to provide a three - dimensional visual representation of the proposed Branch <br />Library in Redwood Shores, and attendance at additional meetings. <br />Fiscal Impacts <br />Funds in the amount of $3,000,000 are appropriated in the 2002/2003 Capital <br />Improvement Program budget for the Proposed Branch Library in Redwood Shores.
