7.2R -1q <br />Any employee who is subpoenaed to court less than three (3) hours before the start of <br />their scheduled shift shall be compensated for the amount of time before the actual shift <br />begins. The three (3) hour court minimum will not apply. <br />Any off duty employee subpoenaed to a hearing in which their appearance is <br />accomplished by telephone have two options. First, they may appear at the Redwood <br />City Police Department and telephone the hearing officer from the police department and <br />receive compensation as if they attended court in person with a three (3) hour minimum. <br />or second, they may make the telephone call from any location they wish and receive <br />compensation for the duration of their call or a court minimum of two (2) hours for this <br />type of appearance. <br />The employee shall be compensated at one and one -half (1 -1/2) times the employee's <br />regular straight -time rate of pay for hours worked in excess of his/her regularly <br />scheduled hours and for hours he /she is required to spend attending court proceedings. <br />Employees are to receive a three- quarters of one percent adjustment to base salary in lieu <br />of a fourth hour of court pay. <br />7.7 Uniform Allowance and Safetv Enuiament <br />Use of soft body armor shall be optional, and shall not be required by the City. <br />The City will insure that all new Police Sergeants have or are provided the following <br />articles of uniform clothing: <br />2 pairs of pants <br />2 long - sleeve shirts <br />2 short- sleeve shirts <br />1 underbelt <br />1 cold weather (non - leather) jacket with patches <br />1 dress cap or baseball cap with patch (officer's choice) <br />1 dress tie <br />2 name tags <br />$100.00 maximum annual reimbursement for boots (purchase or resoling). <br />The City will provide for cleaning, altering, repairing and/or replacement of damaged <br />uniforms as authorized by the Police Chief or his/her designee. <br />Such fumished uniforms shall remain the property of and under the control of the City. <br />Police Sergeants assigned to non - uniform duties will receive a uniform allowance of <br />twenty-six dollars and ninety-three cents ($26.93) each pay period as part of their regular <br />paychecks for all pay periods during which they are so assigned. <br />7.8 Mileaee Pavment <br />The City shall reimburse employees for those miles employees are required to drive their <br />personal vehicles in the performance of assigned job duties as follows: <br />
