Taxi vendor:'
From the first ten months of data, the average taxi vendor cost per month was
$3,814. Based on this, the yearly program taxi costs would be about $46,000 (12
months x $3,814 per month).
Professional Management:
Professional management service costs of $~4,400 per year are based on
sixteen (16) hours per month at $75.00 per hour. (16 hrs x 12 mos x $75.00)
Marketing:
Program marketing cost for one year is approximately $5,000.
Staff Time:
Stafftime for contract oversight, and to direct program marketing a~d planning is
estimated at $5,000 per year.
The estimated total cost to operate the service for one-year, based on first year
costs, was approximately $70,400. This provides 6,540 rides per year (12 mos x
average 545 rides per month), This results in a cost of $5.38 per rider per mile
($70,400 per year/6,540 riders per year/2 mile dde).
We estimate that the cost for the upcoming and future years will be
approximately $77,000. This ~pcom ng .year cost assumes an increase in
ridership of 10% and hence an increase in taxi vendor service cost of 10%. This
cost also includes a greater budget for marketing to increase promotion of the
program and new services to the Belmont Station. The City is requesting CICAG
grant funds in the amount of $38,500, 50% of the total yeady program cost. The
other half of the program cost will continue to be funded by the City's Traffic
Mitigation Fees Fund.

First Year Upcoming City C/CAG Total
3udpet (9/01 - 9/02) Years Funds Grant
ITax~ vendor services $ 4§~000 $ 50~600 $ 25,300 $ 25,300 $ 50,600
=rofessional Management $ 14,400 $ 14~400 $ ' 7,200 $ 7~200 1 $ 14,400

Marketing ' $ 5,000 $ 7,000 $ 1,000 $ 6,000 $ 7,000

Cit7 stafftme $ 5,000 $ 5,000 $ 5,000$ 5,000
I Total 12-month cost $ 70,40015 77,000 $ 38,50015 38,50015 77,000

CUSTOMER INPUT - RIDER SURVEY

After several months of operation, a survey was conducted to collect rider
information and input, Each of the 222 registered participants (as of April 15,
2002) were surveyed.
