Peter Ingram
Redwood City Public Works Department
18 January 2002
Page 2

Develop a concept alignment on existing City aerial photography for a
pipeline from Redwood Shores to Woodside Road;

· Develop an exhibit showing the pipeline route on design development
drawings for the bike path prepared by Mark Thomas & Company for the
San Mateo County Transportation Authority and Caltrans;

· Coordinate with our subconsultant, Mark Thomas & Company, who will
provide background mapping, geotechnical and other information as a direct
cost to the work;

· Contact Caltrans and develop an understanding of overall permitting
requirements, including outside costs and schedule impacts;

· Review recycled water crossings for existing drainage facilities, and develop
preliminary solutions;

· Based on Caltrans input, contact BCDC, ACOE, and other agencies and
discuss any "fatal flaws" with the pipeline alignment and the concept design
for crossing existing culverts and other drainage ways;

· Identify other critical issues to the pipeline design, such as pipeline material
and depth of cover; and

· Prepare a brief technical memorandum summarizing the results and the
estimated probable construction costs, and prepare a scope of services for
final design.

Schedule

We estimate the technical memorandum and scope of services for final design
can be completed within 30 days of notice to proceed.

Budget

We propose a budget of $20,000 be established for this work. Payment would be
on a reimbursable basis, for hours and direct costs expended, in accordance with
our existing agreement. We anticipate approximately 80 to 100 hours of
engineering time and approximately $6,000 in direct expenses for information
provided by our subconsultant, Mark Thomas & Company.
