SD-29, GENERAL IMPROVE- <br />MENT DISTRICT l-65; REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED; <br />AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT FOR SAID WORK; AND <br />DIRECTING RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSIT. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 6332, adopted July 6, <br /> <br />1970, the City Clerk called for bids for the construction of <br /> <br />Redwood Creek channel improvements, Adameda de las Pulgas to <br /> <br />Massachusetts Avenue, in General Improvement District No. 1-65 <br /> <br />in the City of Redwood City, under Project SD-29 of said Improve- <br /> <br />ment District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to said call, bids were received and filed <br /> <br />with the City Clerk for the performance of said work; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Elmer J. Freethy Company, El Cerrito, california, <br /> <br />is the lowest responsible bidder and it is the intention of this <br /> <br />Council to award said bid to said Elmer J. Freethy Company, to <br /> <br />waive any formality in the bid of the above mentioned low bidder, <br /> <br />and to reject any and all other bids received for said work: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The bid of Elmer J. Freethy Company, in the total amount <br /> <br />of Two Hundred Sixty Thousand Six Hundred Forty-one Dollars <br /> <br />($260,641.00), more or less, computed in accordance with bidder's <br /> <br />proposal dated July 29, 1970, for the construction of Redwood Creek <br /> <br />channel improvements, Alameda de las pulgas to Massachusetts Avenue, <br /> <br />in General Improvement District 1-65 in the City of Redwood City, <br /> <br />under project SD-29 of said Improvement District, in accordance with <br /> <br />the plans and specifications therefore on file in the office of the <br /> <br />City Clerk, is hereby accepted and said bidder is hereby found and <br /> <br />declared to be the lowest responsible bidder for said work. <br /> <br />2. Any and all bids received by the City of Redwood City for <br /> <br />the above mentioned work other than the bid mentioned in <br />
