6.1 H <br /> Page 3 <br /> AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AND THE SEQUOIA UNION HIGH SCHO�L D[STRICT <br /> FOR SCHOOL RESOURCE �FFICER PROGRAM <br /> This Agreement is made and entered into this day of 2010, <br /> by and between the City of Redwood City ("City") and the Sequoia Union High <br /> School District("District") (collectively, the "Parties"). <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the collaborative agreements <br /> herein contained, the sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, the Parties hereto <br /> agree as follows: <br /> i <br /> 1. Term and Termination. The term of this Agreement shall be for a period <br /> beginning on July 1, 2010 and ending June 30, 2011. <br /> 2. Obliqation of Citv. During the term of this Agreement, City hereby <br /> covenants and agrees to the following: <br /> A. Assign one (1) peace officer ("School Resource Officer") to Sequoia <br /> Union High School for the term of this Agreement. Each School Resource <br /> Officer shall perform law enforcement services under the supervision and <br /> direction of the City's Chief of Police. <br /> B. The School Resource Officer's workweek shall be ten (10} hours <br /> per day, Tuesday through Friday, for a total of forty (40) hours per week, <br /> excluding recognized school holidays. The time allocations will be modified on a <br /> day-to-day basis based on emergency situations, sick leave, court appearances, <br /> required training days and such other special requirements of the City. During the <br /> years that summer school is held at Sequoia High School, the school resource <br /> officer's hours will be adjusted by mutual agreement. The Principal will request <br /> the school resource officer be on campus only when students are on campus. <br /> C. Make available to each School Resource Officer appropriate <br /> equipment and training as would normally be afforded a peace officer working for <br /> City. City will strive to schedule required training during non-school days so as to <br /> maximize the on-site time of the School Resource �fficer. District will be kept <br /> apprised of any scheduled training. <br /> D. City agrees to accept and investigate reported incidents of criminal <br /> behavior consistent with Redwood City Police Department guidelines. <br /> 3. Obliqations of District.
