A eKE R MAN
PRACTICON
CONSOLIDATED TECHNICAL SERVIOES

EXHIBIT---=&::'

July 29, 2010

City of Redwood City
1017 Middlefield Road
Redwood City, CA 94063

Attn: Mr. Carlos Espinoza
Senior Building Coordinator
Building Infrastructure and Transportation Department

Re: AudioNisual Room for Council Chamber Air Conditioning

Dear Mr. Espinoza:

Ackelman Practicon is pleased to submit this proposal in response to your request for the
subject project. The proposal is prepared based on information received and site visit with
you on 7/28/2010. We are also anticipating additional electrical drawings for power supply
and measurement of amperage data for current operation when the equipment is turned on.

The AudioNisual room selving the Council Chamber was originally design and constructed
in 1996 with the ability to add additional cooling capacity based on the future needs. Since
that time the equipment for this room has been upgraded and additional AT&T equipment is
also expected to an'ive in the near future. The CUlTent Air Conditioning (AC) system
supplying 100 CFM to this room is insufficient to meeting the heat load requu'ement without
turning on the equipment. The new equipment in the future would add even more heat load
into this room to a level that would cause maj or conceln of overheating.

Scone ofworl{ & Schedule

Based on the above understanding we are proposing the following scope of work to alleviate
the anticipated future heat load concerns.

1. Review as-built mechanical, electrical, and architectural drawings as needed to
understand the intent of the original design.
2. Estimate cooling load requirement including extra capacity to anticipate future
equipment upgrade. We would like the City to field measure the amperage reading
with the equipment tuined on to identify the existing equipment load in the room.
3. Conduct a field survey to verify the power and physical space for ducting and
equipment available for installing new AC unit.
4. Based on the calculated heat load, we will propose at least two options to address the
practical way of providing cooling to this rOOln.

80r EAST CHARLESTON ROAD
PALO ALTO.
