S'9...~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING RESOLUTION NO. 26273 OF THE BOARD <br />OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, OPPOSING PROPOSED <br />SAN FRANCISCO BAY-DELTA WATER QUALITY CONTROL PROGRAM <br />AND REAFFIRMING SUPPORT OF STRATEGIC CONSOLIDATED <br />SEWERAGE SYSTEM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors, County of San Mateo, <br /> <br />California, has, pursuant to its Resolution No. 26273, adopted <br /> <br />April 18, 1969, stated its opinion that the proposed San Francisco <br /> <br />Bay-Delta Water Quality Control Program does not meet the objectives <br /> <br />of highest pollution removal and maximum,opportunity for local <br /> <br />and regional beneficial waste water reuse; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to said resolution, said Board of Supervisors <br /> <br />urges the State Water Resources Control Board to recommend to the <br /> <br />State Legislature that no plan of implementation of the proposed <br /> <br />San Francisco Bay-Delta Water Quality Control Program be approved <br /> <br />until an alternative plan of strategic consolidation waste water <br /> <br />collection and treatment facilities be developed which will meet <br /> <br />the fundamental objectives of highest pollution constituent removal <br /> <br />and maximum local and regional beneficial waste water reuse <br /> <br />potential; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the cities of Redwood City, San Carlos, and Belmont <br /> <br />have, pursuant to long-standing concern for highest quality waste <br /> <br />water treatment, implemented a strategic consolidation sewerage <br /> <br />plan involving the cooperation of said Cities in the development <br /> <br />of such waste water treatment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the strategic consolidation sewerage plan of the <br /> <br />Cities of Redwood City, San Carlos, ,,'\and\Belmont will provide <br /> <br />superior waste water quality sooner and more economically than <br /> <br />the proposed San Francisco Bay-Delta Water Quality Control Program, <br /> <br />and will further provide means for highest quality waste water <br /> <br />treatment which would permit potential reuse of waste water; <br />
