The City may elect not to proceed with, such acquisition <br />and likewise elect not to proceed with negotiation therefor, or <br />the City may terminate negotiations, once commenced, at any <br />time, all without any liability therefor. <br /> <br />5. Compensation for the appraisal services contracted <br />herein shall be at a fee not to exceed Six, Hundred,- Fifty ,Dollars <br />($650.00): . <br /> <br />6. Compensation for the negotiation services contracted <br />herein shall be computed on ,an hourly basis at the rate of Twenty <br />,Dollars ($20.00) per hour for time expended in performance of <br />such services, duties and obligations. You will provide testi- <br />mony on all issues involving the valuation of the property being <br />appraised in any condemt'''1ation proceeding, and the City shall pay <br />the sum of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) per day for such <br />testimony, and Twenty Dollars ($20.00) per hour for pretrial <br />preparation work. <br /> <br />If the foregoing terms are acceptable, and if you are <br />willing to assume these obligations as an independent contractor <br />without the right to assign this contract, please execute the <br />original hereof and return it to the City.
