<br />;'J <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />DES.ek 11/18/68 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br />---------- <br /> <br />NO.~ <br /> <br />ORIGINAL' <br /> <br />Nr1r I 8 .~, <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO CONTRACT <br />FOR ENGINEERING AND CONSULTING SERVICES RELATING <br />TO STRATEGIC CONSOLIDATI<N SEWERAGE PLAN; AND, <br />ESTABLISHING APPORTIONMENT OF EXPENSES THEREFOR <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City desires to contract for <br /> <br />certain engineering and consulting services in connection with <br /> <br />the joint sewerage treatment and disposal facilities proposed <br /> <br />to be constructed by the cities of Redwood City, San Carlos <br /> <br />and Belmont pursuant to the Strategic Consolidation Sewerage <br /> <br />Plan, the concept of which has heretofore been approved by <br />Resolution No. 5832 of the Council of the City of Redwood City; <br /> <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Jenks & Adamson, consulting sanitary and civil <br /> <br />engineers, have proposed to perform necessary engineering and <br /> <br />consulting services in connection with said project; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is required that the cities of San Carlos and <br /> <br />Belmont share the costs of said engineering and consulting <br /> <br />services in certain apportioned amounts; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />I. The City Manager is authorized and directed to negotiate <br /> <br />a proposed contract (subject to final approval of this Council) <br /> <br />with Jenks & Adamson for the performance of certain engineering <br /> <br />and consulting services in connection with the preparation of <br /> <br />plans and specifications for the initial stage of the proposed <br /> <br />consolidated sewerage disposal facilities, at an estimated total <br /> <br />cost for such services not to exceed $237,200; provided, however, <br /> <br />that as a condition precedent to entering upon such negotiations, <br /> <br />the cities of San Carlos and Belmont shall by resolution duly <br /> <br />adopted obligate their respective jurisdictions to share in the <br />
