DES:yc:lO/9/68 ~ RES 0 L UTI 0 N ---------- ORIGINAL NO.~ OCr 2J i: RESOLUTION DECLARING UNOCCUPIED, DILAPIDATED DWELLING UNITS AND DETACHED GARAGES AT NO. lO, l2, 14 AND l6 ARCH STREET IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE, DIRECTING THE OWNER TO ABATE SAID NUISANCE, AND ORDERING THE EXPENSE OF ABATEMENT TO BE MADE A LIEN UPON THE LAND IN THE EVENT THE NUISANCE IS NOT ABATED BY THE OWNER WHEREAS, the Building Inspector of the City of Redwood City has initiated proceedings pursuant to the provisions of Article II of Chapter 9 of the Code of the City of Redwood City with respect to the four unoccupied, dilapidated dwelling units and two detached garages at No. lO, 12, 14 and, l6 Arch Street in the City of Redwood City: and WHEREAS, notice of a hearing has been given in accordance with Section 9.7 of Article II of Chapter 9 of the Code of the City of Redwood City: and WHEREAS, this Council has conducted a hearing and heard testimony concerning the condition of said structures and the estimated costs of abatement by repair, reconstruction or removal in accordance with the provisions of Section 9.8 of Article II of Chapter 9 of the Code of the City of Redwood City: NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: 1. This Council hereby finds that the four dwelling units and two detached garages located at No. 10, l2, 14 and 16 Arch Street (Lot 3 and lO.7S' section of Lot 1, Block S, Redwood Highlands Subdivision) are so dilapidated through old age, neglect, misuse, deterioration and decay as to be dangerous to the public, unsafe, untenantable, a health hazard, a fire hazard, and to constitute a public nuisance.
