<br />. <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />Job'Spec.ification <br />Redwood City <br />June 1968 <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />PLANNING AND ZONING 'TECHNICIAN <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />Under supervision, assists in the administration of zoning including <br />ordinances, inspection and enforcement work; assists in formulation <br />and presentation of planning pro~ram, and to do other work as required. <br /> <br />TYPICAL TASKS <br /> <br />Planninq: Collects, compiles, and presents data on existing conditions <br />of population, land use, and traffic~ analyzes and interprets' topographic <br />maps and soils reports for slope classification and land use intensity <br />studies; prepares and updates base maps, and 'performs the mapping work <br />for the varied needs of the department; constructs three-dimensional <br />models~ operates varied departmental equipment for mapping, computing, <br />,printing, and other reproduction, and maintains map files; prepares <br />design forms for published ,reports. <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />Zoninq: Assists in the processing, of applications for re,classifications, <br />use permits, variances, planned development permits, and appeals; assist$ <br />the public in the interpretation of the application of the zoning ordinance; <br />makes field investigat~onsj maintains records of zoning inspections and' <br />investigations; gathers evidence used ~n.warning or'prosecuting property <br />owners who refuse to correct zoning violations; prepares graphic materia1$ <br />for reports, refer~a1s, and public notices~ . ' <br /> <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />'I ,Education: Graduation from a recognized co1leg~ or university with a <br />major in Planning or a related field. <br /> <br />Experience: One year of experience in zoning, building inspection, <br />or planning. ' <br /> <br />Substitution: Education. and experience may be substituted <br />on a year-for-year basis. <br /> <br />License: <br /> <br />Valid California driver's license. <br /> <br />Exhibit B <br />
