Sick leave (meaning the absence from <br /> duty of an employee because of illness, bodily injury, <br /> exposure to contagious disease (when any such disabilities <br /> are not covered by Workers' Compensation Insurance), or <br /> attendance upon members of the family whose illness requires <br /> the case of such employee, or death in the immediate family <br /> of the employee) shall be granted to officers and employees <br /> of the Port of Redwood City, at the rate of one working day <br /> (8 hours) for each full calendar month of service. <br /> <br /> Upon completion of the initial 6-month period of <br />employment, an employee shall be credited with six days (48 <br />hours) sick leave and shall accrue sick leave thereafter at <br />the rate of one day (8 hours) of sick leave for each full <br />calendar month of service.
