The work of this project converted
existing irrigation systems that previously only accommodated the use of potable water,
to accommodate recycled water.

The Redwood City Recycled Water Project - Phase I - Redwood Shores Customer Site
Retrofits - Bid Package 4 project was successfully completed August, 2010, in
accordance with the plans and specifications for a total cost of $262,363.32. Three (3)
change orders were issued totaling $19,863.32 which is 8% more than the contract
amount originally awarded. Change orders are attributable to the inclusion of additional
customer retrofit irrigation sites and unforeseeable site conditions identified after
excavation activities.

ALTERNATIVES
Council may choose not to accept the project, or not to authorize the release of bonds
and retention which would be contrary to the terms of the agreement for this work.

FISCAL IMPACT
Funds have been appropriated from the Water Revenue Bond proceeds. The city has
issued a series of three Water Revenue Bonds to finance Phase 1 of the Recycled
Water Project. Available project funds, less unattributed interest, total $2,626,276.30 as
of June 30, 2010.
