U T 1. 0 N N O. <br /> <br />3205 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OVERRULING DECISION OF BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS <br />AND GRANTING A VARIANCE IN FAVOR OF CERTAIN DESIGNATED <br />PROPERTY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Church of the Nazarene, located at 3518 Jefferson <br /> <br />Avenue, Redwood City, California, made application to the Board <br /> <br />of Adjustments of the Redwood City Planning Commission for a <br /> <br />variance from the strict application of the terms of Ordinance <br /> <br />No. 600, the Zoning Ordinance, in favor of the property located <br /> <br />at 3518 Jefferson Avenue, Redwood City, California, more partic- <br /> <br />ularly described as Lots l7, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22..Block 11, as <br /> <br />designated on the map entitled "HIGHLANDS OF EMERALD LAKE SUB- <br /> <br />DIVISION ONE," which map was filed in the office of the Recorder <br /> <br />of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on January 12, <br /> <br />1926, in Book 13 of Maps at pages 24, 25, 26 and 27, to allow the <br /> <br />construction and maintenance of a sign as more particularly de's- <br /> <br />cribed on the attached "Exhibit A-; and <br /> <br />W-rlEREAS, the Board of Adjustments denied the request; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of Ordinance No. 600, the <br />I <br />aforementioned applicant appealed to this Council from that <br /> <br />decision; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after holding a public hearing as required by law, <br />the Council finds that the following conditions exist: <br /> <br />(a) There are exceptional and extraordinary circumstances <br />which apply to the land, building, or use referred to <br />in the application, which circumstances or conditions <br />do not generally apply to lands, buildings, or uses <br />in the same district. <br /> <br />(b) The granting of this application is necessary for the <br />preservation and enjoyment of substantial property <br />rights of the petitioner. <br /> <br />(c) The granting of such application will not, under the <br />circumstances of this particular case, adversely affect <br />the health Q~ safety of persons residing or working in <br />the neighborhood of the property of the applicant, and <br />will not, under the circumstances of this case, be detri- <br />mental to the public welfare or injurious to property or <br />improvements in said neighborhood. <br />
