U T 1. 0 N N O. 3205 RESOLUTION OVERRULING DECISION OF BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS AND GRANTING A VARIANCE IN FAVOR OF CERTAIN DESIGNATED PROPERTY WHEREAS, the Church of the Nazarene, located at 3518 Jefferson Avenue, Redwood City, California, made application to the Board of Adjustments of the Redwood City Planning Commission for a variance from the strict application of the terms of Ordinance No. 600, the Zoning Ordinance, in favor of the property located at 3518 Jefferson Avenue, Redwood City, California, more partic- ularly described as Lots l7, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22..Block 11, as designated on the map entitled "HIGHLANDS OF EMERALD LAKE SUB- DIVISION ONE," which map was filed in the office of the Recorder of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on January 12, 1926, in Book 13 of Maps at pages 24, 25, 26 and 27, to allow the construction and maintenance of a sign as more particularly de's- cribed on the attached "Exhibit A-; and W-rlEREAS, the Board of Adjustments denied the request; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of Ordinance No. 600, the I aforementioned applicant appealed to this Council from that decision; and WHEREAS, after holding a public hearing as required by law, the Council finds that the following conditions exist: (a) There are exceptional and extraordinary circumstances which apply to the land, building, or use referred to in the application, which circumstances or conditions do not generally apply to lands, buildings, or uses in the same district. (b) The granting of this application is necessary for the preservation and enjoyment of substantial property rights of the petitioner. (c) The granting of such application will not, under the circumstances of this particular case, adversely affect the health Q~ safety of persons residing or working in the neighborhood of the property of the applicant, and will not, under the circumstances of this case, be detri- mental to the public welfare or injurious to property or improvements in said neighborhood.
