<br />~---)( <br />- . <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />POLICE MATRON-CLERK II <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />Under general supervision, to take shorthand notes from dictation and accurately <br /> <br />transcribe them on a typewriter, do general typing and clerical work of average <br /> <br />difficulty; perform matron duties, investigational work and relief radio dis- <br /> <br />patcher-switchboard operator when required, and other related work. <br /> <br />TYPICAL TASKS <br /> <br />Clerical - Takes shorthand notes from dictation and accurately transcribes them, <br /> <br />composes letters from marginal notes or oral or written directions; types <br /> <br />letters, reports, cuts stencils and ditto masters, operates varied office <br /> <br />equipment; acts as secretary to Traffic Bureau, records the minutes and <br /> <br />maintains related files; processes all accident reports, indexes and files <br /> <br />and maintains accident spot location maps; prepares monthly and annual acci- <br /> <br />dent reports and statistics: transcribes recorded statements: takes verbatim <br /> <br />confessions and statements of persons accused of crime, witnesses and inves- <br /> <br />tigating officers; miscellaneous stenographic, typing and clerical tasks as <br /> <br />required. <br /> <br />Matron - Assists officers in arrest and booKlng of female prisoners, searches <br /> <br />and accompanies prisoners to jail, to court for arraignment and sente~ce, to <br /> <br />juvenile hall or to hospital for observation, and accompanies officers in <br /> <br />transporting prisoners from other jurisdictions to this city. <br /> <br />Radio pispatcher-Switchboard Operator relief - If required, works relief radio <br /> <br />Exhibit "B" <br /> <br />j <br />J <br />t4 <br />i <br />P <br />t <br />I <br /> <br />I' <br /> <br /> <br />f <br />..~ <br /> <br />dispatcher, transmitting, receiving and recording radio messages and tele- <br /> <br />type messages, operates manual telephone switchboard, types and performs <br /> <br />clerical duties in connection with records and reports of communication <br /> <br />division. <br />
